Book culture of student’s youth in the network society

Бесплатный доступ

In conditions of the network society book culture of students is undergoing a number of changes, the idea of text as a system of signs and symbolic message carrying a meaning of “author' and “context” is transforming in particular. Being a subject of book culture, a modern student acts as both a “language” and a “node” personality capable of performative creativity and defending their identity in a global network. The transformation of book culture is contradictory: on the one hand, the speed of working with text increases, database becomes more accessible, the field of collective artistic creativity is expanding, and a direct dialogue with the author is more obtainable. On the other hand, verbal communication is minimizing, creativity tends to be depleted and social media graphomania takes place.
