Codes of legal ethics: to the issue of perfection

The article contains an analysis of the norms of professional ethics as a doctrine of professional morality, the system of moral principles, prescriptions in legal activity. Lawyers are obliged to comply with ethical requirements in modern socio-economic conditions. Today, the regulatory system for this issue is different codes of professional ethics, but lawyers have problems in applying ethical standards. The relevance of the research is the identification of problems of legal ethics through the analysis of norms of codes of professional ethics and scientific literature on this topic. The article also contains suggestions for solving the identified problems of ethical regulation of the behavior of lawyers. We used various research methods: analysis, synthesis, formal legal, comparative legal, systemic methods. The research results speak about the problems of legal ethics such as: unsatisfactory unification of the rules of conduct for lawyers, the uncertainty of the status of acts of professional ethics, the limited nature of disciplinary measures for violations of professional ethics and others. Understanding of legal ethics of a lawyer exists in the modern legal system of Russia, but the norms of professional behavior of human rights defenders are not always clear, they are ambiguous. This article may be useful for conducting research on the problems of legal ethics, used in teaching practice and in lawmaking.
