Condominant markers of Rf1 gene in cultivated sunflower

Two codominant markers were amplificated using SCAR primer OPK13, that flanked the locus HRG01 linked to the restorer gene Rf1 in sunflower. Herewith one having size about 450 b.p. is associated with dominant pollen fertility restoration phenotype, and another having size about 350 b.p. - with recessive phenotype. As result of the study of nucleotide sequence of these markers there were identified polymorphic sites of the compared loci (al-leles), which can serve as a basis for allele-specific PCR test-system development, what is a useful tool for distin-guishing of the restorer gene Rf1 allelic variants for marker-assisted selection in sunflower.
