Coherent excitation of phonons in GaAs by laser pulses

This work is devoted to a numerical analysis of the features of the excitation of a quantum oscillator by laser pulses on an example of transverse optical phonons in GaAs using the direct excitation mechanism. The time dependences of the average number of oscillator quanta are considered for various parameters of an electromagnetic pulse. A comparison is made of the time dependences of the average number of oscillator quanta calculated through the total energy, work and using the asymptotic expression for work.
