Cognitive-emotional disbalance (deficiency) concept and its value in pathways of mental pathology and self-destructive behaviour

Pathway of the neurotic disturbances and manifest variants of self-destructive behaviour (SDB) based on psychotraumatic experience at the childhood, mainly as deviant child-parental relations. Cognitive-emotional disbalance or deficiency (CEDD) is a certain psychological measure of psychotraumatization by deviant child-parental mutual relations. The aim of this article – the description a psychological phenomenon as CEDD and its characteristics as pathway basement of mental pathology various kinds and of SDB. The basic maintenance. CEDD is a disproportional psychological development of the person, as a result of the chronic deviations in deviant child-parental mutual relations or extreme psychotraumatic event. CEDD is the basic characteristic of a disintegration in psychological processes cognitive and emotional functioning in interaction with a reality and also in internal experience of such interaction. It has two basic variants CEDD: is regressive-emotional and hypercognitive. Regressive-emotional variant of CEDD is main component of personal disorders such as emotionally-unstable (F60.30), hysterical (F60.30), mosaic (F61) or even schizotypic (F21) combined with alcohol and drug abuse (F1) in most cases. Such patients in stress circumstances have maladjustment (F43.25) with high risk of impulsive self-destructive or suicide acts. The conflict behaviour in interpersonal relations as main trait of them is the great characteristic as background of manifest, clinically observable variants o SDB. Often it formed in adolescence age with extreme development of suicide career. The psychopathology based on hypercognitive variant CEDD is including panic disorder (F41), somatoform vegetative dysfunction (F45.3), dissociate and conversive disturbances (F44), neurasthenia (F45.8) or dysthymia (F34.1). Such patients whith hypercognitive variant SDB as result of chronic psychotraumatic circumstances usually detect antivital feeling and periodic suicide thoughts. The severe depressive symptomatic is developing in stress circumstances for them (severe depressive episode – F32.2 or depressive reaction as maladjustment – F43.2) with real danger of suicide tendencies creation. In such case risk of carefully thoughted suicide acts is so strong. Conclusions. CEDD is one of the important pathogenetic components of various psychopathological disturbances and variants of SDB. The psychological mechanisms understanding and its features determination is reasonable diagnostic way of mental disturbances. And also it is obligatory to input in psychotherapeutic intervention at concrete kinds of neurotic mental pathology.
