Quantitative comparative analysis of the region social sphere components

The main approaches to assessing the level of regional socio-economic and social development are described. The shortcomings of the methods proposed for today are noted, the tendency of the dominance of the social component is highlighted. It is proposed to identify the components of the social sphere: “Social environment”; “Standard of living”; “Housing conditions”; “Medicine, education and science”; “Culture, sports, recreation and tourism” and link them with the level of social development of the regions. The method of determining integral indicators for each of the components is described. Numerical values for the regions of the Central Federal District are calculated. A comparative analysis was carried out, conclusions were drawn regarding the possibility of using the proposed technique in other conditions. The authors describe the main trends reflecting the results obtained.
