The article attempts to determine the reasons and motivation for the cooperation of emigrants (emphasis is placed on Cossack emigration) with the Kuban, although there were also those among collaborators who had nothing to do with the Cossacks. In modern Russian historiography, the problem of collaborationism, including Cossack, has been worked out quite well. Nevertheless, the reasons and motives that pushed the Cossack emigration to cooperate with the enemy of the Soviet Union remain insufficiently studied. The documents of the State Archive of the Russian Federation (GARF) and the State Archives of the Krasnodar Territory (GACC), first introduced into scientific circulation.
