This article is devoted to the role of the ideal FL self when teaching writing in a FL. The concept of the ideal self plays an important role in shaping learning strategies and maintaining a high level of motivation in the process of learning a FL. Its effective use increases student engagement in the learning process and their self-efficacy. Regular recognition of achievements and support for students are important, as such approaches contribute to the creation of a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their goals in learning a FL.
