The collection of wild relatives of fruit and berry plants at the Main Botanical Garden named after N. V. Tsitsin RAS

"Collection of Wild Relatives of Fruit and Berry Plants" exhibit at the Laboratory of Cultivated Plants of the Main Botanical Garden named after N. V. Tsitsin RAS The collection shows the diversity of plants which are the wild congeners of the cultivated fruits and berries, аs well as varieties which may be used in the selection of edible and decorative cultivars. The ezhibit was started in 1959, and currently occupies an area of one hectare and consists of 150 species. The varieties on display are organized in three sections according to their geogrарhical origin: Eurasia, East Asia and North America. A list of the present day plant varieties in the collection is attached.
