The Mennonite colony of Alt-Samara under the anti-religious campaign (1918-1934)

The article is focused on the problem of the influence of the anti-religious policy of the Soviet state on the religious communities of the Alexandertal Mennonites in Samara province (the Middle-Volga region). The author analyzes the reaction of the Mennonites to the pressure of the Soviet regime and examines the factors that contributed to the preservation of their religious practices in the face of political changes and repressions. As a result of the study, the uniqueness and resilience of the religious culture of the Alexandertal Mennonites is revealed, and their desire to preserve their faith and social structures in conditions of anti-religious propaganda and persecution is emphasized.
