Combining ability of sunflower confectionary varieties

Combining ability of sunflower varieties SPK, Lakomka, Borodinsky, Oreshek, Krepysh and Kulundinsky 1 was studied. Sterile single hybrids CMS Kubansky 48 and CMS Kubansky 93 were used as testers. The points of testing were central experimental base of VNIIMK (Krasnodar), Armavir, Don and Siberian experimental stations as well. The middle level of combining ability was pointed out for all varieties studied. Combining ability must be estimated in several different soil-climatic zones. Information ability of sterile single hybrid CMS Kubansky 48 as a tester was better than that of CMS Kubansky 93.
