Combined pre-sowing treatment of seeds as a method of their disinfection

One of the problems faced by vegetable producers is the control of plant diseasesduring the vegetation process. Finding economical and at the same time environmentally friendlyways to control plant diseases is an urgent task. (Purpose of the study) To establish rational parameters of tomato seeds disinfection by combined method: monochromatic radiation and alternating magnetic field. (Materials and Methods) Experimental studies on the effect on disinfection of tomato seeds of the variety "Malva" by a combined method of pre-sowing treatment: visible radiation of the range from 460 to 625 nm and an alternating magnetic field of frequency 0.5 Hz with induction from 6.5 to 65 mTl were carried out. Experimental studies were conducted in several stages: pre-sowing seed treatment, seedling cultivation, and obtaining the final products: tomatoes. Final experimental studies were conducted in production conditions on the basis of greenhouse farm "Ivanov A.P.". (Results and discussion) As a result of the experimental studies it was revealed that the best results of combined treatment for seed disinfection and further immunization of plants are achieved with the influence of a rational combination of parameters: the dose of optical radiation 28.6 J-s/cm² and the dose of magnetic influence 3.86 mTl-s, at which a 100% positive effect is achieved. (Conclusions) Pre-sowing treatment of tomato seeds by combined method: optical radiation and alternating magnetic field is an effective agro-technological method, which can be recommended for use in the cultivation of vegetable production.
