The comic effect of the author's phraseological units in the work of Charles Dickens "Posthumous notes of the Pikvin club"

This article examines the unique use of phraseological turns of Ch. Dickenson in his novel "The Posthumous Notes of the Pickwick Club". To give the work a touch of comedy, the author, in a series of stylistic and lexical-grammatical structures, uses such phraseological techniques as the technique of wedging, substitution, double actualization, contamination and convergence, with the help of which the humorous effect is manifested.
