This article examines the unique use of phraseological turns of Ch. Dickenson in his novel "The Posthumous Notes of the Pickwick Club". To give the work a touch of comedy, the author, in a series of stylistic and lexical-grammatical structures, uses such phraseological techniques as the technique of wedging, substitution, double actualization, contamination and convergence, with the help of which the humorous effect is manifested.
