Communicative competence in teaching reading (in Buryat as a foreign language) in junior school and possibilities of interrelated teaching receptive skills

The author asserts the necessity to introduce the notion of" competence" into the methods of teaching Buryat. This necessity is caused by the fundamental understanding of the aims of teaching Buryat as a foreign language based on the general theory of language aquisition and language proficiency in conditions of teaching. Communicative competence presupposes aquisition of different communicative skills. It is reasonable to single out the most universal and, at the same time, available skill, that is reading, taking into consideration that communicative competence is developed through the interrelation of all communicative skills.
