Communicative aspects of intuition in the structure of self-regulation of the professional activities of traffic police inspectors

Introduction. Professional intuition is enclosed into the stages of self-regulation of work performance and facilitates its effectiveness in extreme situations. The search for connections between professional intuition and interpersonal interaction styles makes it possible to choose a more accurate way of forming the professionally important characteristics of traffic police officers and the police as a whole. Materials and methods. The questionnaire of intuition in the structure of self-regulation activities (Vasilyeva I.V., Grigoriev P. E.) was used to study the intuition, to assess the communicative aspects of the personality of traffic police inspectors - a questionnaire for diagnosing interpersonal relations (diagnostics of interpersonal relations, L.N. Sobchik) was employed. The survey involved 36 traffic police inspectors. As a data processing method, descriptive statistics calculation was used. Results and discussion. The relationship between intuition parameters in the structure of self-regulation of activity and styles of interpersonal interaction is shown. The use of intuition by traffic police inspectors is mainly focused on assessing the parameters of the external situation (subject-object relations in the structure of intuition) and internal dialogue (self-subject relations in the structure of intuition). The most vividly manifested aspects of interpersonal interaction in the structure of self-regulation referring to intuition are self-confidence and confidence in own position, confidence in oneself and one’s position, readiness to compete for upholding one’s point of view, which is perceived and positioned as more accurate, correct; good organizational characteristics; skepticism and realism in assessing the circumstances. Conclusions. Development of intuition as a professionally important quality will ensure the effectiveness of traffic police inspectors’ professional activity including usage of the appropriate communicative aspects.
