Comparative analysis of the standard of living of the population of the Volga federal district

The article describes the standard of living of the population of the regions that are part of the Volga Federal District. The economic and social components of the standard of living are compared. The leading role of the social component is noted. To find the numerical values of the indicators, it is recommended to use the statistical collection «Regions of Russia. Socio-economic indicators». The author offers a methodology for determining the integral indicator of the standard of living. Its calculation is carried out using the table processor “Microsoft Excel”. Calculations of integral indicators for all regions of the Volga Federal District are made. The conclusion is made about the possible prospects of a comparative analysis of the standard of living of the population in dynamic and spatial aspects. The possibility of its use for the development of management decisions at the regional and federal levels is predicted.
