Integrated diagnostics and therapy of dementia with delusions

Psychotic disorders in dementias complicate the course of the main cognitive disorder, are a frequent reason of hospitalization, disadapting the patient, his or her environment. The purpose of the present research was to develop and validate diagnostics and treatment of dementia with delusions. Complex diagnosis of the patient, based on clinical differentiation of types of psychotic disorders, determining microsocial conditions of the patient, promotes development of an individual treatment plan that includes anti-dementia, antipsychotic treatment, psychoeducation for caregivers, increases the effectiveness of the relief of psychotic symptoms in dementia and reduces disadaptation of caregiver.
