The relevance of the study is due to the increasing number of autonomous gas fields located far from central energy supply systems. Currently, alternative sources are gaining popularity as a means of providing heat and electricity to remote gas fields. However, economic evaluations comparing different energy supply options are limited and do not fully assess the potential of using renewable energy sources. The aim of this research is to develop a methodological approach for a comprehensive assessment of the economic potential and justification of the choice of autonomous energy supply systems for oil and gas fields. The article provides a comparative analysis of various types of energy sources, outlining their advantages and disadvantages. The authors present a comprehensive evaluation algorithm, including stages for justifying the optimal choice of energy supply for an autonomous field. To enhance the justification of the energy resource choice, the authors propose a set of indicators that consider macroeconomic analysis of alternative energy sources, the level of technological innovation development, stakeholder influence, natural-geographic characteristics of the energy supply location, and other factors. A fragment of the comprehensive evaluation of energy supply options for an oil and gas field located in the Arctic zone is presented.
