Approaches to the clinical-psychopathological differentiation of OCD are currently underdeveloped. The comparative poverty of the leading clinical manifestations, which is limited by the symptoms of obsessions and compulsions, prompts researchers to look for solutions to this problem. Traditionally, an approach is used for this purpose, which is based on an assessment of etiological factors and the nature of the course of OCD. However, along with this, attempts are being made to use a number of additional clinical signs to differentiate OCD. These include: the nature of the key experiences identified in the psychopathological study of obsessions and compulsions, the age of onset of the disease, heredity.
