Rhythmic gymnastics is a modern, actively developing and popular sport that requires the improvement of the educational process and competitive activity. The article reflects issues related to the accentuated development of flexibility of girls of 8-9 years old engaged in rhythmic gymnastics. In this study, complexes of physical exercises were proposed aimed at the associated development of flexibility and improvement of the technique of performing competitive exercises. The contents of the first complex included flexibility exercises to improve the Planchet element («candle»), the second - to improve the jump by bending with the straight leg, the third - to improve balance with the straight leg back («tightening»). In the course of pedagogical research, the effectiveness of the application of the developed sets of exercises is proved. Based on this, these complexes can be recommended to trainers-teachers of rhythmic gymnastics for regular use in the process of sports training.
