Displays of iodine deficiency are not only diseases of thyroid gland, but also disturbances of genesial system, diseases of hypophysis, pathology of pregnancy and labors (abortions, deadborns, congenital developmental anoma-lies, neurologic and myxedematous cretinism), mental retardation, surdomutism, dementia.
