The article presents material of the Early Neolithic from two settlements which had been studied by the author on the Lower Sukhona River in Nuksensky area of Vologda Region in 1999-2007. The pottery is represented by flat-bottom vessels. Ornamental compositions consist of rows of separate prickings. The complexes show considerable similarity to the material from Neolithic sites of the Upper Volga and Middle Volga, and are dated to the turn of the 6th - 5th millennia BC. The dating is proved by the radiocarbon dating for Beryozovaya Slobodka II-III. The author supposes that pit-pricked pottery tradition in the Lower Sukhona region developed independently during the 5th millennium BC.
