Components of professional and mathematical competence of future bachelors in the direction of “Economics” of the profile “Finance and insurance” and the methodology for their assessment

The relevance of resolving the problem of the discrepancy between the level of professional and mathematical training of future bachelors in the direction of “Economics” of the profile “Finance and Insurance” and the requirements of the federal state educational standard of higher education and professional standards of employers in the financial and insurance sector is substantiated. The author’s definition of the concept of “professional and mathematical competence” for bachelors of the specified direction and profile is formulated, reflecting the specifics of the professional activity of a future financier-insurer. The components of this competence are identified: motivational, cognitive and activity-based. The results of experimental and pedagogical work on its formation in future financiers-insurers are presented, reflecting a significant increase in the proportion of students in experimental groups with components of professional and mathematical competence formed at high and medium levels. A conclusion is made about the effectiveness of the author’s methodological system for the formation of professional and mathematical competence of bachelors in the direction of “Economics” of the profile “Finance and Insurance”.
