The purpose of this work was to conduct a study of techniques for constructing trademarks. The main aspects of the composition of combined trademarks were considered in the article. The compositional features of logos are considered separately. Various graphic elements of the construction of the sign, the use of the dominant in logos and brand names are analyzed, and the analysis of the most common stylistic and compositional techniques of the construction of the sign is also performed. The dominant and its location in the signs are investigated, as well as the means of distinguishing the dominant in trademarks are analyzed. The subject and style are considered as the key concepts of the aesthetic strategy of the company. To analyze the construction of the composition in the development of trademarks and the role of the dominant are the purpose of this article The provisions of the article have methodological value in choosing compositional techniques in the practice of building a sign, as well as the study of the dominant in trademarks in graphic design. The relevance of the research consists in the systematization of the material on the topic, in methodological applications: for setting project tasks, for evaluating work, for developing educational material. In practical work for the application of compositional techniques in the practice of building trademarks in graphic design at the moment.
