The concept of Christian socialism at the present stage: crisis or renewal?

The article is devoted to the transformation of the Catholic doctrine of Christian socialism in the context of modern challenges of globalization. The article analyzes the reasons for the decline in the influence of traditional religions on the modern Western community, as well as the origins of the liberalization of the social teaching of the Catholic Church. The author attempts to assess the prospects for the effectiveness of the globalization of solidarity doctrine of Pope Francis I. In this regard, the third way proposed by the pontiff is considered not only as a way to preserve civil peace in the EU countries, but also as a method of stabilizing the European model of social democracy.
