The concept of creative tourism and its examples in the world

Back in 1993, D. Pearce and R. Butler were the first to mention creative tourism as a potential form of tourism. It allows visitors to develop their creativity through active participation in events. Growing awareness of the fact that many tourists seek to participate in events and experiences while traveling is evident worldwide in the growth of experiential tourism initiatives. The article begins by introducing a definition of creative tourism, building on earlier references to it in the seminal article by G. Richards and J. Wilson An analysis was carried out to synthesize the main aspects of creative tourism. The purpose of this study is to analyze the essence of the concept of creative tourism as a promising type of tourism in the context of global trends. To highlight the relationship between creative tourism and creative events, this article provides an overview and case studies of creative tourism associated with various festivals and events. Developing new events and festivals and adding animation to static attractions have become commonplace in an effort to diversify tourism products.
