The article is devoted to the disclosure of the question of the concept of free education through the prism of its historical formation. The article reveals the chronological aspects of the development of this approach to the upbringing of the child's personality, determines the hysterical stages in the development of this concept, presents the approaches of various figures devoted to this issue of didactics.
