The authors specify the characteristics of the modern elite, which in the eyes of the majority is still associated with exceptional abilities, outstanding talents and moral qualities, though in recent times elite characteristics mostly arise out of connections to financial capital. Time when elite have been determined by referring to the best in their type of activity, or chosen due to social origin, if not completely lost, then tends to zero, while the time when membership in the elite is determined by the amount of financial resources at its disposal aiming at infinity. The article shows that knowledge and possession of elite norms and rules began to be invested in the market, and the elitization of any of the subjects deriving from success in connection with the market turns out to be both insurance against ruin and a condition for making a profit. More over, in modern market circumstances, making a profit has become dependent not so much on laws of the market as on cultural laws. The knowledge and inaction of specific cultural rules, traditions, customs as stable forms of organizing joint activities have become an indicator of another quality of the elite - the quality of a social institution. Within this institution culture of making money plays an exceptional role and serves as a condition for entering and staying in it. Money provide an opportunity for decision-making and their implementation, thereby determining the cultural motivation of modern elites of various types. Money as not of yet have constituted a new religion but rapidly fledging as entity endowing possessing them subjects with qualities exceeding natural ones.
