Feng shui concept: research methodology and development practice in modern Russian Far Eastern culture

The study presents the cultural scientific analysis of Taoist Eastern practice that has become widespread in the Russian Far East. The new material on the subject matter is summarized, and various approaches to analyzing the culture of the border areas are presented. The author builds the following logic: the analysis of scientific concepts - the analysis of the concept of feng shui - the analysis of the actual functioning of feng shui practice. The paper substantiates the idea that in a trans-boundary culture, feng shui can be considered as a secondary semeiologic system and a specific mythological education. Based on the cultural linguistics methods, the research shows the manner of representing the core of feng shui concept in the minds of Russian speakers. The author concludes that residents of the Russian Far East perceive feng shui as one of the esoteric practices that is utilitarian in nature.
