This article considers the concept of «PRIDE» («ГОРДОСТЬ») in four Slavic linguocultures from the standpoint of modern linguocultural studies. The author examines the lexical means of implementing this concept and their value characteristics, as well as the question of the mutual influence of these linguocultures. The so-called “Polish ambition” (“Польский гонор”) noted by the Poles’ eastern neighbors reflects the increased attention in the Polish consciousness to a person’s interest in defending her or his honor and dignity, concepts that are denoted by the word “honor” in the Polish language.
