This article addresses the problem of the genesis of the heavenly hero in the context of the mythopoetic tradition of Turk-Mongol peoples. The concept of the son of the heaven, which was the cornerstone of the ruling clans' ideology in the Great steppe, rested on the oral tradition that existed among nomads since ancient times and was connected with their nature-philosophic beliefs. The significance of the uranical factor in the religious-mythological representations of nomads was adequately reflected in the prototype of Geser - the epic hero of heavenly origin.
