The criminal-related mental conditions the distinguishing characteristic of which is their legal significance are analyzed. Legally significant mental state in the criminal law act as circumstances excluding criminal responsibility, the possibility of appointing or serving the sentence, mitigating or not the punishment of perpetrators of crimes. In the criminal law the relevant mental conditions are expressed in the formulae of insanity, partial insanity, so-called "age insanity" and in specific crimes which require specifics accounting of the mental state during the commission of the crime.
