The article studies how the French playwright Jean Anouilh revised the content, the image system and the conflict of the ancient story about Atrides in the play «You were so nice when you were little» basing on his own ideological attitude. The article is the first to give the analysis of the motive of the past and the retrospective method applied in the construction of this work.
