Conceptual motivation of kinship terms in the Ukrainian folk song subspace

The research was carried out in the context of the current linguoculturological trend of modern linguistics. For the first time in East Slavic linguistics, the article presents a model of the conceptual analysis of the textual functions of kinship terms motivated by their lexical and grammatical connections in Ukrainian social and everyday song folklore. The linguoculturological content of the conceptual chains with core folkloremes (i. e. kinship terms) is modelled accordingly, taking into account the behaviour scenarios of a human being as a representative of their kin, determined by the specific socio-historical circumstances of certain categories, such as barge haulers, commercial carriers, wage workers, the Cossacks, etc. The analysis was based on the construction of conceptual chains, with a kinship term being a leading component. The said words (nouns, adjectives or verbs playing the role of predicates in the statements) helped to establish strong semantic relationships between the chains, which, after their decoding, expressed the axiological content of the statement as a whole. The words in question mainly determine the conceptual motivation of kinship terms in Ukrainian folk song texts. As a result of the study, it was observed that the conceptualization of the social motivation of relationships between a nuclear family members is reflected in the verbalizers of the concepts “alien-native”, “death-life”, “freedom-servitude”, “crying, tears”, “memory” and “parting-meeting”, with presentive, botanical and ornithological words-symbols playing a particular role. The principal conclusion is that while functioning in seasonal and family ritual folk songs kinship terms acquire the characteristics of folkloremes, and this is one of their key features. It is the everyday language culture that serves as a medium for preserving and continuing (reproducing) certain ritual actions or rituals, which actualize the secondary evaluative nominations of kinship terms, as well as the names of actions and interactions of family members in ritual texts representing the high style in folk culture.
