Conceptual vision of transition period in the context of existentialism

In the article the concept «transition period» is considered on the theoretical ground of existentialism. The author analyzes the transition period as an obstacle, a limit and its exceeding. It is revealed that overcoming obstacles, the limit and its exceeding are illustrations of the phenomenon that the transition period is filled with significant meanings related to individual’s existence. These processes are based on the exp e-rience of exceeding (boundary, limit, threshold) that a person himself discovers and establishes. The experiencing situation triggers a response that is not ordinary, one of the others, but rather one that affects the further future of holistic existence. The author comes to conclusion that the existential (transitional) periods are the inherent part of someone's way of life, they are necessary for his self-knowledge and selfimprovement.
