Conceptual and methodological approaches to the study of national security efforts of traditional societies of the North, Siberia, and Russia's Far East in transition to modern development

The author attempts to highlight some aspects of the transition of the indigenous minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East from traditional to modern development on the basis of a conceptual analysis of the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, using the methods of modernization theory. The methodological approaches of the concept of sustainable development as a component of national security efforts of indigenous small ethnic communities are analyzed on the basis of factual material. The possibility of applying the connection between the general theory of national security and the concept of modernization in order to identify the mechanism of complex impact of the state at the transitional stages of integration of traditional societies into modern society is outlined. The transition period is presented as a profound integration process of civilizational nature with a special role of the state in ensuring the national security efforts of the indigenous minorities of the North, Siberia, and the Far East. The author substantiates the need to refer to the new methodological approaches that have emerged in the study of such an interdisciplinary phenomenon as national security.
