The article deals with theoretical aspects of the influence of increasing the quality of goods on its competitiveness in the market. The authors examine the fact that in the definition of competitiveness, an individual-valuation of the goods by the consumer acquires considerable weight. It is substantiated that the competitiveness of the goods is a multifaceted concept reflecting the conformity of the goods to market conditions, specific requirements of consumers both for qualitative, technological, economic, aesthetic characteristics, and for commercial conditions of its realization.
