Connotative attributive word combinations in an English football sportscast

The functional features of a sports commentary are defined against the background of structural and semantic features of attributive word combinations. In this paper attributive word combinations are analyzed in terms of connotativeness as a lexical-phraseological category which helps to gain an insight into the verbal reaction to a situation in the register of sportcasts.
