Despite his ideological differences with the Slavophiles, K. Leontʹyev did not lose interest in their ideas and was aware of their writings. In this article, the author studies Leontʹyev's treatment of the legacy of K. Aksakov. Leontʹyev considered the elder of the Aksakov brothers as his predecessor in the school of «culturephilism» and valued the later's historical aphorisms. However, his understanding of Konstantin Aksakov's legacy was mediated by the works of Ivan Aksakov and Nikolay Danilevsky.
