Constitutional and structural features of right and left atriums of mature women

Morphometric parameters of heart atriums were determinated in mature women with different constitution. It is found that asthenic women had the minimal transverse dimension of right and left atriums, 34,2 mm and 35,9 mm correspondingly; and the least volume of right atrium (98,5 ml) and left atrium (130 ml) and the biggest transverse dimension those heart chambers. Maximal volume of right atrium (118,2 ml) and left atrium (130 ml), as well as the transverse dimension of the chambers were fixed in the hypersthenic female constitution. Investigated mature women with normosthenic constitution had mostly the minimal vertical size of left atrium (39,2 mm) and intermediate values of all other indicators. Parameters of oval fossa by women of different constitution were not statistically significant.
