The article considers the expansion of the powers of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation on the issue of protecting human rights, ensuring the security and sovereignty of the Russian Federation in the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation on March 14, 2020. The tasks of the Constitutional Court to protect human rights and ensure the security of the state, arising in the modern conditions of globalism, are studied. The mechanisms of constitutional control are established as a means of protecting human rights and state security in amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation and in laws that concretize it. It is concluded that the empowerment of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation with the right to decide questions about the possibility of applying international acts of the Russian Federation and decisions of the ECHR on the territory of Russia ensures the stability of the foundations of the constitutional system and the protection of human rights.
