The Constitutional Court of the RF and the ECTHR: history of relationship development

The article examines the issues of interaction between the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and the ECHR in different historical periods. The author tried to study the provisions of regulatory legal acts and decisions of the judicial authorities of both Russia and foreign countries. The methodological basis of the research is made up of a set of methods, including dialectical, general scientific and private scientific methods of cognition. It is noted that Russia's complete refusal to comply with the decisions of the ECHR of at least some of the measures of a private nature is inadmissible due to the international obligations assumed by Russia and constitutional provisions on the right of citizens to judicial protection. The Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and the ECHR should look for ways for mutual consideration of each other's decisions in order to protect the rights of citizens.
