Modern society is commonly referred to as information-based due to the global proliferation of digital technologies, which create extensive opportunities for data exchange. The introduction of new media leads to qualitative changes in communications in various fields of activity. The article examines ten modern effects of mediatization in political communications, distinguishing between their constructive and destructive characteristics. Among the constructive effects are increased information accessibility, increased civic engagement, transparency and accountability of authorities, political education and awareness, and bolstered democratic processes. The identified destructive effects of mediatization in political communications include societal fragmentation, spread of disinformation, decline in the quality of political discourse, commercialization of the political process, and manipulation of public opinion. It is emphasized that such dual impacts on the political communication system necessitate the development of tools to enhance constructive effects and mitigate destructive ones.
