Consulting and informational activities on agricultural thematic in the provinces of European Russia at the beginning of the 20th century

The article is devoted to the history of the development and implementation of consulting and information activities on agricultural thematic in the provinces of European Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, which were organized by government and public structures. The authors examine various types of these events: readings, conversations, lectures, consultations, activities of libraries and reading rooms. They reveal the difficulties of agricultural and educational activities connected with the low level of literacy and the archaic picture of the world of rural residents.
