Contradictory metaphor: a research of cognitive-semantic aspects of metaphorization

The article makes a research of metaphor from the point of view of its truthfulness in the metaphoric process. The aim of the metaphor is to discover the means of metaphoric representation in which it serves as imaginary vision of a concept, which is not necessarily verified from the point of view of its truthfulness. Actual value of the research of verification of metaphor is determined by the search of a reliable explanation of knowledge production mechanisms. The article draws a conclusion that a special sub-type of metaphor -diaphora is able to combine criteria of logical and everyday conscience, as well as heuristic intuitive knowledge. Thus, metaphor is a special cognitive mechanism, which activates and synthesizes at once a number of conceptual spheres, in so doing “the presumption of truthfulness” does not restrict metaphorization, which is a mechanism of “double vision” and thus allows viewing concepts from different points of view.
