Conventional strategies of the English protestant discourse

The article is a part of strategic communication analysis in the English Protestant discourse. The subject of the analysis is conventional strategies in this type of discourse. The research material consists of American Baptist present-day sermons texts. Conventional strategies in religious discourse can be manifested in such particular strategies as exhortation, notification consisting in warning and preventing from undesirable actions; argument, appeal, advice, recommendation, instruction. Semantic-stylistic and rhetoric peculiarities of religious texts (sermons) are viewed as means of conventional strategies realization. The aim of these strategies usage in the English Protestant religious discourse is to restrain the behavior of protestant group members.
