Korean protestantism in Buryatia in the 1990s and the 2000s

This article discusses protestantizatsii process with participation of Korean missionaries are actively developed in the Republic of Buryatia in 1990-2000-ies. The author notes that in the current religious map of the republic a significant place is occupied by the Protestant religious organizations, complementing the historically-rooted traditional religions and religious beliefs -Christianity, Buddhism, Shamanism. As part of the strategy of Buryatia neotraditionalist development in designated time period, the national elites were actively searching for new post-Soviet identity, and here was the actual religious factor in the formation of the national idea of the titular nation.
