In separate regulatory documents and modern stipulations of the theory and practice of corporate management, the main characteristics are formulated to identify economic subject as a corporation. This article presents the results of a study of a number of works and regulatory acts that arrange existing knowledge in the direction of 38.00.00 Economics and Management studying course preparation. In particular, the analysis of definitions and characteristics made it possible to identify a number of key positions that distinguish the corporation from unincorporated business, which are given the name of organizational and characteristic stipulations.
