Correction of general hypoplasia of speech (ORL) in preschool children

Mental and speech development of the child has a close relationship, but at the same time the development of speech and cognitive activity is characterized by certain specific features. Speech development is one of the components of the general mental development of a mentally retarded child. As a consequence, a purposeful and systematic work to correct speech activity contributes to a positive impact on the whole process of child development. The formation of speech is based on the development of cognitive activity, but these processes are relatively autonomous. It is known that the level of speech development of children with intellectual disabilities (mental retardation) varies significantly. Mental retardation negatively affects speech development, but there is no clear, direct correlation between the degree of mental retardation and the level of speech development.
