Diabetes mellitus (DM) is currently considered a serious epidemic worldwide and is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease and mortality in patients with DM. Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) in the absence of coronary heart disease, heart defects, arterial hypertension, etc. is a multifactorial disease leading to ventricular hypertrophy, interstitial fibrotic changes in the heart and heart failure.
